My home pc doesn't work anymore, so I won't be playing ET again until I have money to buy a new one, which is never.

I only have the laptop now, I don't think ET runs on this oldie. It might, I might give it a try sometimes.
I think its the power source (voeding) that's screwed, so my neighbor the IT guy is coming this afternoon, and maybe he can help me out. There's still hope, but I'm not holding my breath 🙁

Instant update.
My neighbor the IT guy has just left. We've concluded it's not the power source (voeding) but the motherboard, since a new power source didn't do anything either. So... It's time to make a nice hole in the backyard for it. But there's probably also good news.
Since I did something for him a whileback, my neighbor is giving me an old pc of his instead of paying me for the favor, with my old harddisk in it.
So, I might be able to play...Fingers crossed.
Hope the IT guy can help out otherwise we will buddy.don't give up so easily you hear!!

My laptop is a bit too crappy for it, especially with busy servers I think. So I need to wait a little bit longer, and hope the pc my neighbor will provide me is OK to play ET on. See you soon.
Update:
The latest news is that the pc is coming today, with windows 7 even, so hopefully I'll give ET a try again tonight, or tomorrow, or something.
I just hope with the comeback of old ReTro the new Retro hasn't been forgotten, otherwise I'll change my name to something with Dawg in it.

Well, I was online yesterday, but my ping was around 100. So I decided to reboot and then the problem surfaced again. Apparently, the pc thinks there are two Windows installed, and doesn't know which one to boot up. So my neighbor is working on it.
Does anyone play ET on Windows 7 and have a higher ping than before? Any tips how to solve it?
the OS does not have an effect on your ping.
I have w7 and loving it.
A higher ping can have many reasons.
Windows 7 doesn't like Enemy Territory at all. Had some serious problems to get ET running also. No idea on your bug though! 🙁
I played for a bit yesterday and the ping fluctuated a lot, from 180 to 2, so it's a bit unstable on BH1, but I had best accuracy on one map, and most headshots on another, so I'll manage.
