FPS problem

Hi guys!

I have a big problem with my frame rate. They are droping down to 1 FPS. This happens mostly when i am using the scope. But sometimes it also happens when i have the other view. I have found some solutions for this problems. It fixed some of the problem but my FPS is still droping. And i am running the game on lowest possible settings!

The solution is to delete some game files. Go to the WOT folder->res->particles->Tank. You can basicly delete all the files there. I have deleted following files: all burst files, all dust files, exhaust file, explosion file, all shot files, and tank explosion.

I also deleted some files in the following folders: WOT folder->res->particles->Shells eff. I have deleted all of the groundhit files.

This has corrected 75% of my problem. But that 25% still remain and eating my nerves!!

I am playing on my laptop which is not bad. Dell Studio 1558.
Intel® Core™ i5 430M
2 x 2048 MB PC3-10666
Seagate 500 GB 7200 rpm 16 MB
ATI Mobility Radeon™ HD 5470 1024MB
I am runnig a fresh copy of win 7 professional.

Does any one have any ideas how to fix that 25%? 🙂
Hi.

You can try to edit this file in the preference script:

You can find the preference script in Users/*username*/AppData/Roaming/W. You'll probably need to select "show hidden folders" in your folder options. Edit it using notepad.

Change this:

<label> TERRAIN_MESH_RESOLUTION </label>
<activeOption> 0 </activeOption>

To this:

<label> TERRAIN_MESH_RESOLUTION </label>
<activeOption> 2 </activeOption>

Otherwise you can read through this topic:

Compressed Textures Pack

And the laggs while zooming in sniper mode should be fixed with this one:

Clear Sniper View
a laptop with that speccs, should not have such low fps at all.! 🙄
there must be something els wrong.....
did you try to update grafic driver?

you can also try a new (clean) install from the game: http://game.worldoftanks.eu/update

your laptop must run the game smooth on medium settings, it almost looks if no grafic driver is installed.
I have installed fresh copy of windows, after that i have updated graphic drivers with the last ati catalyst drivers. I also instaled fresh copy of wot. I found out that this happens when i get hit or fire. So when there are explosion. I solved that by removing the game files. But the problem remains when i drive thru a building, brake fences, walls and so on. I also have problems when there is smoke from destroyed tanks. So the problems is because of the dust and smoke. But i still haven't found which files i need to delete to get rid of the smoke & dust. Any ideas?

Regards, B

Edit: thanks for all the tips but i have already tried all of this :\ .
im still thinking its a grafic card issue.. your laptop should run the game just fine.
ati isnt famous for their driver, maby an older driver can do the job.
also...your grafic card might be broken...(lets hope not)
try other games also like trackmania... it has heavy grafic in it to.
Well first i had to install drivers from dell to get support for full HD screen. I couldn't find just the drivers for the screen on dell web page ;\. After that i installed catalyst drivers. Could this be the problem? And can anyone help me find just the drivers for the screen because i lost hope of ever finding them 🙁.
try this: http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs&releaseid=R257949&SystemID=STUDIO1558&servicetag=&os=W764&osl=en&deviceid=23412&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=1&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=0&libid=6&typeid=-1&dateid=-1&formatid=-1&source=-1&fileid=379116
well try to change graphic and every detail to very low. I play every game on very low details because i open few games and play every of them a little.
I have everything on the lowest possible setting. Only resolution is on 1920x1080 🙂

I found one scope tool last month for wot.
It just give you higher FPS if you use scope.

USE BOOTH AT YOUR RISK
