Westfield and other ideas for the WAR ORGA team.

Hello

When I couldn't sleep last night I had some ideas about the smashings we got on westfield and possibly why.
I had this post idea up last night because I couldn't sleep but then managed to close the net down before sending the post so the write up wont be the same as it was, I have forgotten bits. Also I cant get the hang of Gtactics yet so there is not a picture to back up the ideas, I am sorry for that you will need to use a bit of imagination. I will try and add a picture at a later time when I know better where would could position tanks.
Please read through and look at the links at the bottom, I know there is something of worth in this post.

1. FORM UP
Certain situations in the past has meant that a military force has needed to use a formation in order to defend a position from a rushing enemy. Wagons in the wild west would form circle to defend against rushing Indians (i know WOT is not the wild west) and special forces will park their jeeps in triangle formations to have their guns be able to fire in all directions if needed without catching each other in cross fire and giving the soldiers cover. Maybe we could try and do something similar.
Please see picture examples.

One idea using formations I had was from the spawn point we get the heavies to sit in a defensive formation with the MAUS/E100s forming a shield and TDs T30s and IS7s firing from in between in some way. All tanks would need to be formed in order to fire at the same target at the same time, in a way that confuses the enemy and in such a way the fast movers can break and attack if or when is needed. This would need to be backed up with a rush for the enemy arty to give the defenders a chance however this could be done with as little as a fast scout to light up their arty for our arty. The point of this idea is to keep all the heavies together to help each other and to draw the enemy out of the town and from their cover.
A variation on this idea could be the heavies form up with their backs against the map edge so not to be circled and snipe the enemy coming across the fields.

Another formation idea I had was to have an all heavy tank V shape formation with each tank a tanks distance apart to the front and side, that keeps it shape but rushes the town.

2. Keep the same as what we have been trying with rushing the town but keep T30s sniping tanks and or TDs in the bushes further back, this is to snipe targets from a distance as they come through the town or over the hills. Clever positioning of either means they could defend the base as well should it be required. Put simply create sniper support behind the advancing tanks.

3. 5 heavy 5 arty 5 mediums used however you please.

I apologise if this seems a bit complicated or difficult to follow (I am still waking up) however I am trying to put new ideas into your heads and ask politely that you think outside the box a little. I cant say these would work but I also can't see the hurt in trying. Likewise also sorry I cant post a picture of the special forces formation.

I am posting the links to the pages I got the pictures from as there are some interesting basics we could adopt in general game play or SB. I like the idea of the platoon formations.

Look at the bottom of this page to see tank formations.

"The Line formation: The line formation creates what I like to call the "Oh Sh*t" response in the enemy.  The purpose of this formation is to break cover, and present as many targets to the enemy as possible, all at once."

This is pretty much what happened yesterday. We were literally like "oh sh*t" and started to shoot at different targets, while they kept moving and maneuvered to focus fire one at a time, while also having the advantage of larger numbers since we were split up and they weren't. They also did it so quickly that our slower tanks didn't have time to find arty cover and as such we didn't have the arty advantage that defenders normally do.

So basically we need to either hunker down and prepare to counter this kind of tactic, or we do a rush of our own in the same manner as they did yesterday.
