How to install enemy territorry

Hi all,

A small tutorial on how to install a working version of enemy territory on your computer.
Its wise to PRINT this guide as some steps are done ingame and you cant read this then.


1: download the ET fullpack here: http://www.braveheart-gaming.com/et/etfullpack2013.zip

2: unpack it somewhere on your computer.

3: click on WolfET.exe to install it (dont start the game)

4: click on ET_Patch_2_60.exe to install the patch (dont start the game)

5: unpack et2.60bwin32.zip

6: go inside et2.60bwin32 folder and go to win32 folder

7: copy both files inside win32 folder.

8: go to your instal(C:program files/Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory) and copy and replace the

old files (ET.exe and ETDED.exe)

8-a: in etfullpack run ET_PBSetup.exe this will install the files needed for punkbuster

support and wil give you an etkey.

9: Start ET

10: create a nickname(color code allouwed ,like this ^d)

11: follow the steps in the first screen and push create.

12: after the first step dont do anything further, we need todo some extra steps first to make

sure your install is ok.

13: drop down the bar by using the ~ key

14: when the bar is down you need to type some stuff there, all start with a /
type
a: /com_hunkmegs 128
b: /com_soundmegs 48

15: after the steps in 14 you close the game completly as it will store the settings we just

typed.

16: start up again and press play online

17: search for the BraveHeart Funserver.

18: or connect to this ip: 82.72.32.163:27960

now your on the BraveHeart fun server with a fully working ET install.

There are some tricks you can do to get some better grafics:
go to your ET install and go in folder etmain(C:\Program Files (x86)\Wolfenstein - Enemy

Territory\etmain).
search and change in etconfig.cfg this lines:

seta r_customheight "1080"
seta r_customwidth "1920"
seta r_fullscreen "1"
seta r_mode "-1" unsafe

As you can see i made my game full HD, but you can take any costum resolution.
Make sure the rest is at values you see above.
Do the same in: \Wolfenstein - Enemy Territoryetmain\profiles\etconfig.cfg
and here: \Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ noquarter\autoexec.cfg
and here: Wolfenstein - Enemy Territory\ noquarter\profiles\ nickname\etconfig.cfg

now you have a costum resolution.

Also note that in the file you downloaded in the first step is an: etmin.exe
If you want to minimize the game place that on your desktop and you can run it before you

start ET.
Minimize with alt-z to use it.

IMPORTEND:
since punkbuster stopped supporting the game you dont get automaticly an etkey anymore...
For people with a new install you need to get the etkey manualy.
Get it here and save it in etmain before you connect to anyserver:

hi blue iv downloaded ET from another site will i still be able to change the files ..it just took to long to download from your link... :?

Hi manx,

The install guide is updated now and tested.
If you donwloaded before, throw it away and download the new version.
Follow the guide and all will work fine.

What does the r_mode does? why is it -1? why is it unsafe?

By drop down the bar do you mean the highlighted text? If so drop down to where?
and enter the text where?
Also  ip: 82.72.32.163:27960 no connection there.

@joni that setting is needed to set a custom screen resolution.
@buzbyT that is done after step 12 while you are still ingame, pressing ~ will lower a window to type those commands in.
after each command press enter.
If you failed to do so when installing , your game will work, but on some servers the game will kick you because of lack of memory.
the commands tell the game how much memory to use.
connect: After startup lower the window with ~ (thats done before you press  "play online"
in the window type "/connnect 82.72.32.163" and you will connect to our server.
you will download some files that are needed, and the 2nd time you start the game, you wil have a shortmenu to our server.

Nothing happens here when I press ~ (above # key)
no box etc...

I'll have to catch up in TS and sort some time. Head done in for now

try pressing the button left from the 1. (not next to the 1 on numpad but the top)
Press your ˜(tilde) key to bring down the console. (Normally the key above the TAB and below the ESC). Every command should be entered in the console to make it work.

thanks for the post. i follow all the steps but i got a problem. every time when i connect to a server i get the problem that i have an emty cd kay. i copyed an et key into punkbuster folder but the reason is still here ...  :x

etkey goes in etmain. 😛
