Skill and Tanks

After getting penetrated in an angled position with my ferdi by a T34 i asked myself: Do some tanks require less skill than others?

Whats your opinion?

P.S.
Maybe this is just a form of anger management, but still I'm interested in your opinion.
Angling only works against bad/distance shooters.
The reason is simple, there is always a corner where you can get a penetrating shell.
i.e. INSIDE the tracks OR the square sections on the front of certain vehicles.
Just think of the effect of a hose pipe squirting water, where it splashes back is where you will penetrate for most shots.

Also the T34 has a tier 9 gun and can penetrate every vehicle in the game including the Maus, but if he wants a stand off shooting competion the ferdi should win every time, rate of fire damage and penetration values all favour the ferdi, just remember inbetween your shots show as little of your tank as possible and hopefully he might miss 🙂
I've faced down a Ferdy and a KV-5 on my own on Himmelsdorf's death alley on the pre 8.0 version in my KV-3. Before they put all that rubble there.

It was easy with side-scraping angling. 1 in 10 of their shots were knocking off my HP. The rest were richochets or de-tracks. About 50% of my AP shots were damaging them thanks to R2D2 on KV-5 and lower front hull on ferdy.

The only way to reliably damage a properly side-scraping tank is to use HE or charge him.

It's all about player skill and the situation you find yourself.

I think that side-scraping is something we should practise at our next training session as I think some BHL members aren't using it enough - if at all.

Some tanks don't require much skill. Derp KV-2: pop out from cover every 20 seconds, aim at centre of mass, fire, get back in cover.
