Yesterday it became apperent that players were being asked to change class under some new half implemented quassi rule and the impression was you'll be forced to do so ...
I have no problem with admin limiting classes if it suites the gameplay we all want on the server however there is this fucntionality built into the game and I dont think its fair that some members or even admins have the right to determin whom should play what roll in the game just as much as I think players should change teams aswell out of choice ... I dont always change team because I know I would consider it unfair to change ... I'd find it hard to choose myself so I say let the game do it if must be implement at a precentage of team size ...
Differnt matter if you ask a freind to play together as a teammate and choose classes that complement eachother out of fairplay and gamemanship ๐ ...
Let me just start by saying I'm not a rambo medic but I usuallt try for 5 stars in the class after achieving 5 stars in several other skills first ... My medic play time counts towards about a 5th of my over all game play ... If I think theres enough medics on a team I dont choose it ...
Now some of the issuse or thoughs ...
- It may cause more harm than good, If memebers arn't happy playing a class it ain't going to help they're teams moral ...
- Letting the game take care of it removes any unsetteled feeling between players / admins ...
- Some people only play medic cause they arn't highly ranked and can survive a little longer in the game or just cant play other classes full stop ...
- Not all medics are rambo's or good players ... Medics can inadverntly help the enemy by droping medipacks when killed ... there will also be a reduction in the number of those laying around ...
- Not all medicd have the same skill rating ...
- Several medics on the same team can cause problems for the team, first they share resources so the more medics the less power they all have in recharge and revive, sencond, competition also lowers there own xp/skill gain in such situations ...
- The team might not be able to complete the mission with mostly medics or could need medics to complete it (goldrush anybody?)
- Medics can boost other players with adrenline, I do this on ocation when I have charge, like for an engineer that has to rush in and plant dyno ...
We've all played good game and played bad games and we all know when we see them on our screens so all I ask is use common sence choosing class and give the team some thought aswell as your own interest ...
