If you are getting disconnected when music starts in game (at our servers), you have to make a little change in your etconfig file.
Just search the file in the etmain folder, its called etconfig.
Open with notepath and search seta com_hunkMegs "56".
Change "56" into a higher one, for example 128, 256, 512 or even higher. 😆
Save the file and close it.
Now open your ET game, press ~ to open the console, type:
/com_hunkmegs 128 (same number you saved in etconfig) and press enter.
Maybe you have to restart your game, to make the changes effect.
Then we will see you in our battlefields!

This is the problem i get, i'm sorry it's in dutch...
But cause of this i can't change the file.
use an other program to edit ur cfg ...
editplus 2 is a verry good one for that

It's simple, edit the file, press File, and then save.
If not, make a copy, save as etconfig.cfg
Euh....what about admin rights in Vista?
Maybe the file is ONLY READ?

I downloaded that program, EditPlus 2, and i can save it now yes 😃
But... When i looked at the file again with my normal program, to check if it worked, the com_hunkmegs are still 56, while i just made it 128 :-?
But i just saved.. so i thought i try again with the program, and then ''save as'' (instead of just ''save'', and then click on the original cfg file, to make sure it saves that, so i save it, check again & still it is 56, instead of 128 :-? What could be the problem ?

the problem might be u saved it as a etconfig.cfg.bak file 🙂
so u open ur file, edit it, remove the old file from ur et (just to be sure),
save it to the same place u opened it from, select all files (to save), be sure u name it etconfig.cfg, close editplus, check if u see a cfg.bak file(if so remove it), then open etconfig.cfg to look if it is fixed, if not send ur etconfig to me.
be sure u edited it in folder PROFILES and in ETMAIN, cause et always loads those 2
is they are not the same it will open the last used one

First when i downloaded ET on vista, i made a profile ( you know, start ET, need to make profile etc.) But it crashed because of that everytime, so i played allways without makin' a profile. But since the hunkmegs need to be higher, and i cant edit the .cfg file, i thought i try again makin' a profile, cause then when change the hunkmegs on ET, it will be like that when you play again & again right, ( when dont make profile, it allways stays on 56, unless you change cfg). It worked tonight, but now it start crashing again, so i cant play with profile, and without profile i get kicked sometimes cause the hunkmegs needs to be higher, so i'm in a tough spot right now...

in dutch : ga naar :configuratiescherm/mapopties/weergave en haal het vinkje voor extensies voor bekende bestands typen weg.
TO MIssy,
put the file in your etmain folder , start the game go to the server and type in the console :/ exec BHsounds.cfg
then it should work.

I advise to make a complete new install and throw away your keys and all other stuff.

Even in vista its possible to make an profile with et.

But i also have some bigger problems now 😲
Sound is gone, and not just on ET, also on whole computer. No sound anymore.
Also when you go to ''this computer'' ( i dont know if thats it, in dutch its called ''deze computer, die verkenner tog'', there normally you see the C drive, and the Dvd drivers and all that stuff right.. Well also the dvd driver is gone :-? And no i didn't do it. But so i need to fix that stuff 2 somehow.
Thnx for the advice, when i have done the things you said, i'll make a new post here to say if it worked/ not worked.

EDIT: Soundproblem on pc fixxed.
But i tried what you said, and created a profile, turn punkbuster on. next time i start ET again, it freezes. Also when you start ET , you see some kind of console for couple of seconds before it starts right. There i see some with: CRASHED.
I opened the console now, without starting ET. There behind almost everything it says : check com_crashed.
Also it says: Couldn't exec autoexec.cfg.
And that's with punkbuster on.
Normally when i dont have a profile, and just connect this server, i need to do punkbuster everytime on, but then i dont have problems, so those crashes etc are problem with punkbuster i guess. Know what to do?
Make sure you have the latest grafic drivers and open gl support.
And pb is funny thing, the is a file called punkbusterA.exe
When you start ET PunkbusterA.exe is trying to execute PunkbusterB.exe
Make sure that you firewall allows this to happen.
Give both PunkbusterA.exe and punkbusterB.exe complete acces or you have problems with ET.
Maby make a dualboot system with Winxp also to tryand see if you dont have problems then.
Also make sure you run ET as an administrator with vista.

I run ET as administrator, and i'm pretty sure punkbuster has full acces.
And my graphics card is updated to the last 1
But about that open GL stuff.
That's gonna be a problem i think,
Cause i have the game Scarface, the graphics won't work good,
and i'm not the only 1, i searched i-net about it, and everyone with Vista has problems with the game, and that's because Vista don't support OpenGL, or something like that.(it has something to do with directx 10 on Vista)
so if that's the problem with ET, it's not going to be fixxed 😢
EDIT: Ohh i just found out there is a new update 😆
Maybe this is gonna fix it then, cause this is 1 of the things it contains:
